Area of Effect Weapons inflict damage on all nearby opponents.
TIP: If you find yourself neck and neck, hold the trigger down and fire away.
Long Range Weapons have extended reach, but a narrow blast radius.
TIP: Make sure you’re lined up on a straightaway for maximum impact with this highly precise weapon type.
Short Range Weapons have limited reach, but a wide blast radius.
TIP: Typically semi-automatic, Short Range Weapons require a trigger press for each shot, but also tend to do more immediate damage than their medium-ranged cousins.

TIP: Use only when you anticipate you’ll take damage.
Emit a signal that scrambles a nearby opponent's steering, causing them to lose control.

Slow down opponents in front of you.
TIP: Most useful in a Race Game.
Use for a huge increase in speed, but be careful to stay on the track!
TIP: Best used on the long straight-away parts of a track.

TIP: If hit by the Tractor Beam item while driving in reverse, you'll speed up instead of slow down.
Press and hold to do sustained damage with weapons like Skull's Chaingun.
TIP: This also applies to Area of Effect weapons like GroundShock’s ElectroPulse.
Weapons with a semi-automatic trigger require a press of the fire button for each shot.

The longer you hold on to the trigger, the more powerful the weapon becomes.
TIP: Make sure you’re lined up directly behind your opponent for maximum impact.
