New Cozmo Update Celebrates Our Community with First User-Created Project
Posted by Meghan McDowell, Senior Producer, Anki | March 30th, 2018
You may have seen that yesterday we rolled out an update to the Cozmo companion app, once again demonstrating the breadth of interactive content that can be built with the Code Lab programming platform. And while the new game, “Wake Up, Cozmo!” may catch your fancy now, what we’re really excited for you to check out is a new Featured Project that will be unlocked on April 6. Cozmo owners will have access to the first-ever project that was submitted by our community member (and not created by the mad scientists that roam Anki’s hallways).
Called “Guess the Number,” the game prompts players to think of a number between 1 - 100 and help the all-knowing Cozmo guess it correctly by using his interactive Cubes. The game was developed by JDFight, a C# game developer by trade and evidently a Cozmo programming extraordinaire at night! For additional insight how JDFight came up with the game and his experience using Code Lab, check out our Q&A with him on the Anki Developer Site.
Also got a hankering for programming? We’re currently hosting a contest, where Cozmo owners can submit a Code Lab project that celebrates Summer in a creative way - think Cozmo singing the hottest summer song or building a sundial on Cozmo’s face - and win $1,500! Cozmo owners have until April 9 to submit, and the contest is open to residents in the U.S., U.K., Germany, and France.
Developing Cozmo has (obviously) been a labor of love for everyone at Anki. But we also want you to have a seat at table when it comes to determining how Cozmo will evolve. If you have an idea or two for a program, get to coding on Code Lab! Who knows? You may end up winning the $1,500 in the process!
